AS THE SUN RISES IN THE  EAST……………

Greetings my Brethren,

Fraternal and Holiday Greetings to all! May your Holidays be filled with joyful memories that bring smiles the whole year long! I would like to express my gratitude for having been elected as Master of the Lodge for 2017 Masonic year. With your continuing support, I will continue to carry on the tradition that has been started and make good use of the gavel as Masters have done in all ages before me.

I would like to invite you and your family or friends to attend our first event for the incoming year, our January Stated Meeting and Dinner on January 10, 2017 at 6:30 pm. Also, I would like to invite everyone to our Installation of Officers to be held on January 14, 2017 at 2:00 pm. This would be an excellent time to meet your new line of Officers and their families. Dinner will be served after the installation.

Next month will be a busy time for all of us and we need your support and participation. For the Officers, we have OSI on January 17, 2017 at 7:00 pm in Vacaville. We also have two candidates due their initiation and let's plan to have a double First Degree on January 20, 2017.

As a side note I want to thank Bro. Willie de Santos for volunteering to be the lodge cook. His first act of duty will be at our January Stated Dinner.

Again, I thank you and wishing you and your families a very prosperous New Year! May Brotherly love, peace and harmony reign in the heart of all!

Sincerely & Fraternally,

Bro.  Charlie Foronda

AS THE SUN IS IN WEST……

LAMBSKIN APRON

It is an emblem of innocence and the badge of a Mason. More ancient than the Golden Fleece or the Roman Eagle, more honorable than the Star and Garter, or any distinction that can be conferred upon you, at this or any future period, by King, Prince, Potentate or any other person.

It may be that in the coming years, upon your head shall rest the laurel wreath of victory, upon your breast may hang jewels fit to grace the diadem of an eastern potentate; nay more than these, with light added to the coming light, your ambitious feet may tread round after round the ladder that leads to fame in our mystic circle and even the purple of our Fraternity may rest upon your honored shoulder. But never again from mortal hands, never again until your enfranchised spirit shall have passed upward and inward through the pearly gates shall any honor so distinguished, so emblematical of purity and all perfections, be bestowed upon you as this which I now confer. It is yours – your name is written upon it – yours to wear throughout an honorable life and at your death to be placed upon the coffin which shall contain your earthly remains and with them laid beneath the silent clods of the valley.

Let its pure and spotless surface be to you an ever-present reminder of an emblematical or unblemished purity of life and rectitude of conduct, a never-ending argument for nobler deeds, for higher thoughts, for purer actions, and for greater achievements. And when at last your weary feet shall have come to the end of their toilsome journey, and from your nerveless grasp shall drop forever the working tools of life, may the record of your life and actions be as pure and spotless as this fair emblem which I now place in your hands (hands it). And when your trembling soul shall stand naked and alone before the Great White Throne, there to receive judgment for the deeds done while in the body, may it be your portion to hear from Him who sitteth as the Judge Supreme, the welcome words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”

It is hoped, my Brother, that you will wear that apron with pleasure to yourself and honor to the Fraternity.

WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER

Take your lodge number and double it. Add 5; multiply by 50, add your age (no cheating),

add the number of days in the year (for you slow thinkers it is 365), subtract 615. The

last two numbers of the result is your age and the others are your lodge number.
